Larry Huddleston was admitted to the Bar in 1977, and has been an estate planning attorney for more than 15 years. He was in the first class of Certified in Ohio as Specialists in Trust, Probate and Estate Planning. He has taught estate planning in almost half the states in America to attorneys, accountants, physicians, and many others in groups from 10 to 1,000. He participates in several professional organizations from trade associations to "think tanks." He is enthusiastic about his work, and intends to keep at it for many years. He carries a single digit golf handicap at Scioto Country Club, is a passable fly fisherman, a pilot, still enters ski races occasionally, and sings bass in the Upper Arlington Lutheran Church choir.
He is a graduate of Portsmouth (Ohio) High School, Muskingum College and Capital University School of Law. Prior to starting his estate planning career, he was a general practice attorney, litigator, financial regulator, expert witness in "banker misbehavior" cases, and a financial institutions merger and acquisitions consultant. He lives in Upper Arlington with Debbie, his patient wife of 31 years. They have two grown daughters.
Jeffrey A. Griffith, JD Associate Attorney
Jeff Griffith began his estate planning career right out of St. Louis University Law School, and is current Chair of the Ohio Forum of Estate Planning Attorneys, an Ohio organization comprised of estate planning lawyers who are also members of WealthCounsel, LLC or the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys. He is also the firm's technology wizard, and can fix or remodel almost anything. He has worked with Mr. Huddleston since 1999.
Jeff lives in London, where he has completed the remodeling of one home and in his spare time is hard at work, with his wife Angie, restoring a 19th century farmhouse.
Curtis H. Knapp, JD Of Counsel
Leave it to lawyers to invent a term no one else understands. "Of counsel" identifies an attorney who is not a partner or member of the firm, but with whom the firm works closely and regularly. Except for simple deeds, Curt handles most of our real estate matters: closings, commercial transactions, title insurance, real estate problem solving and special situations. His office is located at Polaris north of Columbus. He can be reached directly at Polaris Title, 614.547.0220.
Jeffrey R. Dundon, JD, LLM USN, Retired
Jeff was a partner in the estate planning firm of Dundon & Huddleston, LLP, and ran the firm's Centerville office. He retired in March, 2007 from the general practice of law, and is now the Director of Planned Giving for the University of Cincinnati. Most of his client files were transferred to Huddleston Law Group, LPA.
Other Attorneys
There are no other attorneys directly affiliated with our firm, but there are two other groups on whom we rely as needed.
Our Centerville office on Paragon Road is in the same building with attorney colleagues Jeffrey Gammell and Peter Hoshor, both of whom are primarily real estate and business attorneys, and Thomas Kendo, who handles mostly Wills and Probate matters. We are pleased to refer clients and cases to these colleagues when appropriate.
Nationally, we have working relationships with attorney colleagues throughout the United States. Should one of our client matters require the services of an attorney licensed to practice in another State (such as our snowbird clients in Florida, or family members of our clients wherever they may be living), we are able to co-counsel with, or refer cases to, our out-of-state colleagues whenever circumstances warrant.
Client Support Team
Loretta J. Jamieson, Office Coordinator
Loretta is usually the first contact for new clients, and is in charge of scheduling and workflow. Most clients like her more than the lawyers because she is also our Chief of Understanding and Empathy. She has worked with Mr. Huddleston since 1998.
Melissa D. Gilbert, Paralegal
Melissa is our Estate Administration Paralegal, a position she has held with other firms before recently joining us. She manages probate and trust administration for decedent's estates, and processes all guardianship cases.
Christine Capoccia, Paralegal
Christine is our newest Paralegal, fresh out of Paralegal school, and works in all our areas of practice. Not surprisingly given her youth, she has better computer and technology skills than most of us.
Deborah N. Huddleston, Business Manager
Debbie, a banker before children intervened, handles the firm's bookkeeping, personnel and insurance matters. She thinks we spend too much on almost everything.
